The Success Foundation Turning Young Lives Around

The Success Foundation is on a quest to help young people turn their lives around, and reach the success they desire.

Think about it for a second… What other country can a self-educated farm boy become the 16th president, or can a poor girl from an abusive background become a billionaire media maven? We’re all inspired by rags-to-riches success stories like those of Abraham Lincoln and Oprah Winfrey.

I for one still believe that these stories can happen to kids from all walks of life, and it takes organizations like the Success Foundation to help make them come true.

Here are some numbers for you to think about.

- More than 40% of young people doubt they can achieve their goals

- Around 70% wish they had more opportunities to help them fulfill their dreams

- Fewer than 60% feel a sense of purpose

- Less than 65% are motivated to achieve

- Fewer than 30% feel they have skills like planning and decision-making

- Around 25% of all public school fail to graduate on time, if at all.

- About 50% of African-Americans and Hispanics fail to graduate on time, if at all

- And 75% of those incarcerated did not graduate from high school

- While 85% of adolescents who are training in success skills graduate time resulting in a 50% drop in welfare dependency.

What part can you play in helping us change these numbers?
